Dan Menzone

Dan Menzone was born and raised in Dudley, Massachusetts - at the age of 13 he fell in love with the Banjo. Over the past 30 years Dan has developed a dynamic and unique style of banjo playing which has earned him a highly respected reputation. Dan has been recognized by many of his heroes as a strong and prolific player. On May 12, 2011, Dan took First Place in the 2010 International Songwriting Competition for the song "GoneBeserk" off his album "Frostbite". In 2008, Dan was recognized by the International Acoustic Music Awards as a finalist in the instrumental category for his original tune, "Menzone Drive".

Some of you might remember that Dan played with the very popular Traver Hollow band for 19 years. In addition, Dan has done a fair amount of solo work, recording with some great musicians which include Wyatt Rice, Ron Rice, Rickie Simpkins, Ronnie Simpkins, Adam Steffey, Rob Ickes, Richard Bennett, Don Rigsby, and Roger Williams. Dan has also composed numerous original banjo tunes and has toured the Eastern half of the US, Canada and Europe.
